On this episode of PBC Jabs we recap our thrilling
October 14th FOX and Showtime cards, and if you want to win a PBC t-shirt, stick around
to the end of the video for PBC Trivia! What’s up, boxing fans? I’m your host Jordan Hardy and you’re
watching PBC Jabs. On October 14th PBC brought you an action-packed
night of fights. We kicked off the evening from StubHub Center
in Carson, California as featherweight world champs Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz put
on a show in front of their hometown fans of Los Angeles! Abner Mares was up first as he defended his
title against Andres Gutierrez. Mares controlled the fight from the beginning
and earned a stoppage due to a cut over Gutierrez’s left eye resulting in a 10th round technical
decision victory. Then, fellow 126-pound titleholder Leo Santa
Cruz faced Chris Avalos. Santa Cruz stepped on the gas from the opening
bell hurting Avalos in the fourth round. “El Terremoto” then poured on an offensive
onslaught in the eighth to stop Avalos by TKO. Both Mares and Santa Cruz looked impressive
Saturday night and talked about a 2018 rematch! After our FOX show, PBC continued on Showtime
from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with three 154-pound world title fights. In the main event, Erislandy Lara put his
WBA title on the line against undefeated 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha. After dropping Gausha to the mat in the fourth,
Lara boxed his way to a unanimous decision victory and seventh title defense. Then, WBC 154-pound champ Jermell Charlo defended
his title against top contender Erickson Lubin. Charlo wasted no time, landing a devastating
right uppercut in the first 20 seconds of the fight that sent Lubin to the canvas. Definitely a candidate for Knockout of the
Year. And, IBF 154-pound champ Jarrett Hurd made
his first title defense against former world champ Austin Trout. It was an entertaining back-and-forth battle,
each landing big shots that damaged one another’s eyes. Trout’s eyes became so swollen in the 10th
round that his corner stopped the fight making Hurd the first fighter to ever stop Trout. If you missed the action on October 14th FOX
and Showtime events visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more full fights recaps and highlights! PBC Trivia is back! Here’s this week’s question: Think you know the answer? Visit the PBC Facebook page and click the
PBC Trivia post to submit your response, and if you guess correctly, you’ll be entered
to win a PBC t-shirt. That’s all for this week’s PBC Jabs. Thank you for watching and I’ll see you
next time as we continue to bring you the best in boxing!

  1. A 2018 rematch? These two were supposed to fight last month but instead shared a card this weekend?! Boxing is fucked. And he is dodging the rubber match with Frampton.
