This week on PBC Jabs we recap our June 27th
FS1 show, we check in with the IBF 135-pound champ Robert Easter Jr. and we preview our
June 30th PBC on Bounce show. What’s up, boxing fans? I’m your host Jordan Hardy and you’re
watching PBC Jabs! On June 27th, Toe-to-Toe Tuesdays delivered
a 147-pound rematch between undefeated Miguel Cruz and once-beaten Alex Martin. When the two first met in the ring in January
the result was a controversial split decision victory in favor of Miguel Cruz but on Tuesday,
Cruz managed to silence the critics and defeat Martin. For a full fight recap and to watch highlights
from the night, visit PremierBoxingChampions.com. Robert Easter Jr. returns to the ring June
30th on Bounce to make his second IBF title defense against Russian contender Denis Shafikov. And joining us now is the champ himself. Robert thanks for joining us on Jabs! ROBERT: Thanks for having me. JORDAN: You’re making your second straight
title defense in your hometown of Toledo, Ohio. What did you learn from the first defense
at home that you will apply for this fight? ROBERT: Um, that my people, my fans and my
family and friends, they all come out and support. Whenever I have a boxing show, my fans and
my Toledoans, they come out and show true love. JORDAN: Without giving too much away, how
do you plan to handle a relentless pressure fighter like Denis Shafikov? ROBERT: Um, you know, pretty much use my distance. My distance, my speed and my skills. I feel like Denis hasn’t faced anyone with
the skills I have. Of course, he faced taller opponents but no
one with skills I have though. JORDAN: What are your thoughts on Broner-Garcia,
given that one is your good friend and the other is a potential title unification opponent
for you? ROBERT: Of course I’m going for my big bro. The Mikey Garcia fight, that’s one of the
fights I did want to happen with me and him, but like I said it’s a big business move and
it’s an opportunity for the both of these guys. One, for Adrien Broner so he can get his name
back. Well, he’s already—Adrien Broner’s name
is always up there with excitement but it’s a good look for him. Of course, I believe he’s gonna win. Mikey Garcia, he’s coming to fight. He’s not coming to lay down but I just believe
this will put Adrien Broner’s name over in the spotlights once again. JORDAN: Thank you for your time and good luck
on fight night! Also, that evening don’t miss the return
of Julian Williams who will attempt to battle back from his loss to Jermall Charlo when
he takes on rising star Joshua Conley in a 10-round 154-pound bout. The fists start flying at 9pm Eastern / 6pm
Pacific. For full fight details and live streaming
info visit PremierBoxingChampions.com. That’s all for this weeks’ PBC Jabs. Thank you for watching and I’ll see you
next time as we continue to bring you the best in boxing!
