August is almost over and depending on
what part of the world you’re in that could mean a whole hell of a lot or
scant little what it means to us at boxing world weekly is that we still
have four more months left to go and perhaps the greatest boxing Adam to come
down the pipe in some time we’ve already seen huge events stunning upsets in
grand spectacles in stars rising and falling and even though the first eight
months were beyond kind for fight fans September through December appears set
to deliver just as many thrilling nights for instance how do you follow off the
biggest sideshow boxing scene in decades with Mayweather vs McGregor why with the
biggest action fight to be made at the top of the sport in years in Canelo
Alvarez versus Gennady golovkin from there it’s on to the opening round of
the best boxing tournament the sports ever seen the world boxing Super Series
cruiserweight bracket with first-round match-ups that includes doozies like
various Mairis Briedis vs Mike Perez, Murat Gassiev vs. Chrystof Vlodarczyk, Usyk vs. Marco Huck, and Dmitry Kudryashov vs. Yunier Dorticos, but there is more we’ve got rematches galore with doozies like
Liam’s Williams and Smith’s part-dieu and the horn Pacquiao sequel plus there
are other rumored fights like Tony value versus Andre Ward that a fight fans
salivating at the thought of so in spite of our occasional complaining there’s
been very little to gripe about when it comes to boxing in 2017 you

  1. Boxing has been amazing this year.. and the year isn't even over yet! So many great fights have been had and still so many great fights still to come!

  2. Absolutely best year in a long time Santa Cruz vs frampton 2, ward vs kovalev 2, golovkin vs Jacobs, thurman vs Danny Garcia, Mikey garcia vs broner, tank davis/gary Russell Jr/terence crawford all with title defenses on the same night , Joshua vs klitschko the best heavyweight title fight in ages and we have a Jr welterweight undisputed unification crawford vs indongo about to happen and golovkin vs canelo superfight coming up I mean how can it be any better than this ? we might fuck around and get deontay wilder vs luis ortiz by the end of the year also
